Two men accused of abducting, imprisoning and raping a woman after she was allegedly taken off the street in Carlton are also charged with stealing a $16,000 diamond ring from her.
Harley Jarthur Palise, 26, and Jarrod Vincent Thomas, 23, both from Doreen in Melbourne's north-east, were both charged on Friday with two counts of rape, abduction, unlawful imprisonment, unlawful assault and theft.
They appeared together at Melbourne Magistrates Court late on Friday night.
The two bearded, heavily-tattooed men wore white t-shirts and grey tracksuit pants as they sat quietly in the dock.
Mr Palise shook his head and looked at people in the public gallery during the hearing, some of whom were crying.
