Two men have now been arrested over the alleged sexual assault of a woman in a car driven from Carlton on Sunday.
Doreen man Harley Palise, 26, presented himself at the Spencer Street Police Complex on Friday evening, after police publicly released his name and image. He is currently in custody being interviewed by investigators.
Earlier on Friday, a 23-year-old man went to Mernda police station, where he was arrested. He has since been charged with abduction, two counts of rape, unlawful imprisonment and theft.
The 23-year-old Doreen man will front Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this evening.
On Thursday night, three male witnesses shown in CCTV released during yesterday’s public appeal attended Epping police station and spoke to investigators.
The appeal followed the alleged incident, which occurred on Sunday, 17 June.
