Adelaide Crows coach Don Pyke has admitted his team's controversial pre-season camp involving a high-performance program was a failure.
The club has cut all ties with consultancy group Collective Mind, which ran 'mind training' sessions during the Crows' Gold Coast trip in January.
Pyke today confirmed players were blindfolded and subjected to reigning premier Richmond's theme song on a bus trip between sites.
"It's fair to say some of those sessions didn't hit the mark and didn't resonate with players," Pyke said.
An Indigenous player also raised concerns when a cultural artefact was used during a welcome to country ceremony.
Player Manager Brett Burton conceded any offence taken was a "miss" on the club's behalf.
"It was clarified 72 hours after the camp. Again, we all learn," Burton said.
Officials were also forced to respond to criticism surrounding the Crows' physical program, with many fans blaming a mounting injury toll on the club's flagging fortunes.
"Everyone's looking for a reason or scapegoat or something else. The reality is we've got good people," Pyke said.
"Have we made mistakes along the way? Yes, we have. Have we had conservations here to say we'd do things differently? Yes, we have."
