Two men have now been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a woman in a car driven from Carlton on Sunday.
Doreen man Harley Palise, 26, presented himself at the Spencer Street Police Complex on Friday evening, after police publicly released his name and image. He was interviewed and charged this evening.
Earlier on Friday, a 23-year-old man went to Mernda police station, where he was arrested. He has since been charged.
Both men are facing charged of abduction, rape, unlawful imprisonment and theft and are appearing in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tonight.
On Thursday night, three male witnesses shown in CCTV released during yesterday’s public appeal attended Epping police station and spoke to investigators.
The appeal followed the alleged incident, which occurred on Sunday, 17 June.
