WA Police investigate suspicious death of woman in Munster in Perth's south - ABC News

A woman has been found dead at house in Munster in Perth's southern suburbs and police say her death is being treated as suspicious.

Key points:

  • The Munster incident is the fourth suspicious death in WA in three days
  • Police say the investigation into the woman's death is still in its early stages
  • Two men have been charged with murder following seperate fights in Perth's suburbs

Officers were called to a property on Henderson Road by St John Ambulance about 12:10pm and found the woman's body.

It is the fourth suspicious death in WA since Boxing Day.

WA Police said the investigation was in its early stages.

"Detectives and forensic officers are now investigating circumstances that led up to that death and police are appealing for anyone who has information in relation to this situation," Inspector Geoff DeSanges said.

"We're still examining the full circumstances of what occurred here."

About an hour after officers found the woman's body, police revealed a man was "running around naked and appearing disoriented" in the neighbouring suburb of Henderson, near the intersection of Russell Road and Rockingham Road.

The man, believed to about 20 years of age, is believed to have taken off into bushland before being found.

Police were unable to say whether the incidents were linked.

"But because it was in this vicinity we've had significant resources deployed to locate that person, and subsequently that person was taken in the custody at about 2:00pm this afternoon," Inspector DeSanges said.

Spate of suspicious deaths

Two men have already been charged with murder by WA Police following fights in separate houses in Perth's suburbs in the two days after Christmas Day.

Jason John Burt, 39, faced Joondalup Magistrates Court on Friday charged with murdering 68-year-old Hans Besselaar, who died in hospital after a fight at a Duncraig house on Boxing Day.

Emergency services were called to the home on Davallia Road about 10:00pm and found Mr Besselaar seriously injured.

He was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital but died a short time later.

In court, Mr Burt — neatly dressed in a light blue shirt, with short hair and a tattoo on the side of his head — spoke softly only to confirm his identity, acknowledge he understood the charge and to thank his lawyer.

He was not required to enter a plea and the magistrate informed Mr Burt that if he wished to make a bail application it would need to be heard by the Supreme Court.

In a separate incident, a 20-year-old man has appeared in Joondalup Magistrates Court charged with murdering a man in Clarkson, in Perth's north, on Thursday afternoon.

It is alleged Connor Stephen Milton killed 34-year-old Craig Wilson during a fight between the two men outside a home on Willoughby Retreat.

Mr Milton wore a blue prison jumpsuit and seemed wide-eyed and distressed when he appeared in the courtroom.

He was not required to enter a plea and spoke only to confirm his identity and acknowledge he understood the charge.

Both accused men are due to face Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on January 9.

Meanwhile, police are continuing to investigate the death of a 30-year-old Perth man in Kalgoorlie, in WA's Goldfields, on Wednesday night.

Ambulance officers were called to help a man found with serious injuries on Brownhill Road in Williamstown about 3:05am.

He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Homicide Squad and Kalgoorlie detectives are investigating the death and police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
