Perth police are on the hunt for a bunch of thugs who broke into a home, brutally attacked a pet dog and left it for dead.
The pup’s owner Daniel Kohl told Seven News Perth that Maya required nine pins and a metal plate to treat the injuries she sustained in the sickening incident.
“I don’t understand what gets into somebody that they have to do something to a defenceless animal like that. It’s really disgusting,” Mr Kohl said.
The surgery required to remedy Maya’s serious injuries has cost her owners thousands of dollars and a great deal of heartache.
The Perth family have not noticed anything missing from their home, despite it being trashed by the burglars.
Perth police officers have described the attack as sickening and are searching for any information on Maya’s attacker/s.
