A major police search is underway today after a young boy disappeared from a campsite in the New South Wales Central West region yesterday.
Emergency services have been deployed to the area around Razorback, 69km south of Mudgee, after three-year-old James Skillen went missing from a campsite on a property on Old Ilford Road around 5pm yesterday.
Police were called when relatives were unable to locate the toddler and concerns were raised about his welfare, according to a statement.
Authorities from the NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, Rural Fire Service, NSW SES and the Volunteer Rescue Association conducted an initial extensive search of the area but the boy has not yet been located.
"James is described as having a fair complexion, about 100cm tall, green eyes and sandy blonde hair in a buzz cut," the NSW Police statement said.
"He was last seen wearing dark blue shorts and t-shirt and carrying a yellow back pack.
"Anyone who sees James or believes they know his whereabouts is urged to contact police."
Anyone with information that may assist authorities are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
