Jesus may have had his last supper and the Easter bunny is yet to deliver the chocolate, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll have to go hungry this weekend if you forgot to stock up. Especially if you know where to head.

Good Friday is the closest Australia seems to get to the old-fashioned public holiday when everything is closed, but with a bit of help you'll still be able to find a few open doors.

Fish markets

For the serious practising Christians among us, Good Friday is a no-go for eating meat. So it's as good an excuse as any for a fresh seafood feast (apologies to vegetarians). The Sydney Fish Market boasts extended hours on Good Friday, from 5am to 5pm. Regular trading hours apply (7am-4pm) for the remainder of the weekend.
