A man has been charged after he allegedly sexually touched and made sexual remarks to an on-duty paramedic who tried to help him in Sydney’s west.
At about 4.30pm on Monday, NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to Carpenter Street, Colyton, after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man seen lying in the street.
Police allege the 45-year-old man from Mount Druitt, who witnesses say was lying unconscious at a bus stop, initially refused treatment and made sexual remarks to a female paramedic.
Witness Sharon Holmes told Nine News the paramedic kept trying to help the man into an ambulance, but he kept refusing.
Police will allege in court that soon after, the man sexually touched the same paramedic as she walked him to the ambulance.
Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended the scene and arrested the man, NSW police said.
He was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with sexually touching another person without consent, behaving in offensive manner in public and common assault.
He appeared at Penrith Local Court today where he was refused bail.
