Violent footage of wild schoolyard brawl emerges

She said she believed the brawl was triggered when a teenage girl threw a hair accessory at another girl.

“I’m so upset for those teachers that had to go through that,” she told the radio station on Tuesday.

“I’m disgusted that the children had to witness that ... I'm disgusted at the kids who had to be roped in when it had nothing to do with them."

Another mother, who spoke to The Age on the condition of anonymity, said a text message had been sent to some parents by principal David Lord confirming an altercation between five students.

It is understood the text message stated that disciplinary action would be taken, and that no students or staff had required medical attention.

But the parent said her son had been left shaken by the brawl.

"He was really upset when he came home from school," she said. "Kids have a right to feel safe at school. It's not the first time something like this has happened."

Victoria Police confirmed officers arrived at the school about 11.30am on Tuesday after receiving reports of a brawl, but did not witness the fight.

Officers also returned to patrol the school during the 3.30pm school pick-up.
