Six boys have been arrested after a string of robberies triggered a police pursuit through inner city Perth and Fremantle.

A police pursuit in South Lake ended in Hamilton Hill, with police arresting six teens, while the hunt for other alleged offenders continues on Sunday.

Police said the spree started about 10.15pm on Saturday night when a man on John Street in Northbridge was approached by the group and threatened with an axe.

He had his bag stolen and the group left the scene in the Honda Odyssey, which police later established was stolen during a burglary in Booragoon, likely in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A short time after the Northbridge incident, occupants in the same Honda pulled up alongside a woman at Elizabeth Quay, threatened her and demanded property.

The woman handed over a bank card and the group left the scene in the vehicle.

Then just before 11pm, a man was approached by the group at the Burswood Park carpark and threatened with an axe, before his Honda Jazz vehicle was stolen.

At 11:30pm, occupants in the two stolen vehicles went to a service station on Berrigan Drive in South Lake, where one of the cars struck the other.

Some of the occupants then entered the service station, with one member stealing items from the store while another paid for items, police said.

A service station staff member contacted police, who then deployed Canine Unit vehicles and a Police Air Wing helicopter to the area.

Shortly after midnight, Regional Operations Group officers spotted the Honda Odyssey at the corner of High Street and Parry Street in Fremantle and attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver failed to and accelerated away, police said.

Police Air Wing officers arrived and monitored the vehicle, with units on the ground keeping a safe distance.

The occupants drove around Hamilton Hill in the car before a stinger device was deployed on Carrington Street, forcing the occupants to abandon the vehicle and flee on foot.

Six male juveniles were taken into custody nearby for questioning.

Police on Sunday laid the following charges in relation to the spree:

- a Spearwood boy, 16, has been charged with Steal Motor Vehicle and Reckless Driving (to escape police). He is due to appear in the Fremantle Children’s Court on Thursday May 17.

- a Gosnells boy, 15, and a Hamilton Hill boy, 14, have both been charged with Steal Motor Vehicle. They were refused bail and are due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court on Monday April 23.

- a Willagee boy, 14, has been charged with Steal Motor Vehicle. He is due to appear in the Fremantle Children’s Court on Thursday May 17.

- two boys, aged 15, have been referred to the Juvenile Justice Team process in relation to a Steal Motor Vehicle offence.
