Ute speeds away from crash after slamming into car

The driver of ute that slammed into the back of another car has been captured on camera speeding away from the scene.

The motorist who captured the dashcam video was travelling on Ballarat Road in Braybrook, west of Melbourne, this week when he pulled up behind two cars that were involved in a crash.

The ute can be seen reversing from the damaged vehicle before speeding away and making a left turn down a nearby side street.

The car's owner makes a brief effort to chase down the ute on foot but had no chance with the vehicle quickly disappearing.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are not clear.

The video, which was posted to Dashcam Owners Australia’s Facebook page, has been viewed more than 80,000 times since being posted yesterday.
