Gunshots fired from one car into another in Mascot

POLICE are hunting for a gunman after shots were fired from one car into another, before both vehicles sped away, in Sydney’s south east.

Witnesses reported several shots fired from a white Ford Ranger ute towards a Mazda sedan about 6pm, on Jackson Dr, near Kent St, Mascot.

Both cars sped away, with witnesses claiming the pair were driving “erratically” in a western direction along Jackson Dr.

A number of shell casings were found by police.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured.

Police blocked off both ends of Jackson Dr and an adjacent laneway beside the nearby Meriton Serviced Apartments.

Officers from Botany Bay, along with K9 Dog Squad officers are on the scene.

The shot up car was later found in Riverwood.
