Man reported, loses car after security cameras catch long burnout on Torrens to Torrens motorway

A MAN caught on security cameras doing a burnout on the new Torrens to Torrens section of South Rd has had his car impounded.

The Holden sedan broke down on the North-South Motorway at Ridleyton just before 12.30pm on Saturday, not long after the new section of road had opened to the public.

When he drove off again, he staged a long burn out, crossing into other lanes of traffic.

The details of the car were caught on the highway’s camera system and supplied to police, with officers from the Road Policing Section tracking down the driver on Sunday.

A Pooraka man, 24, was reported for driving in a dangerous manner and misuse of a motor vehicle.

His car was impounded for 28 days and he will appear in court later.

“Police are extremely disappointed that this driver chose to put other people’s lives at risks in this manner,” a police spokesman said.
