Early risers were treated with another beautiful sunrise this morning.

 

A man has been stabbed to death in Meadow Heights, in Melbourne's north, this morning.

A 57-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested at the scene in Malmsbury Drive,  just after 5.30am. 

The man, in his 70s, was found dead at the scene.

The death comes after a man was fatally stabbed in a Heidelberg Heights home overnight.

The two stabbing are not connected. 

 

 

 

There are delays up to 30 minutes on the Pakenham Line due to a track fault.

There are still minor delays on the Sunbury Line.

Paramedics were called to the Heidelberg Heights house just before 1am.

They treated the man but he died at the scene.

In an hour-long hearing in the Jerusalem District Court on Tuesday, Malka Leifer's lawyer dramatically threw his client's medications on a table to prove that the 54-year-old was not mentally fit to face trial and that a new report on her mental health was "rubbish".

Israeli police re-arrested Leifer earlier this month, accusing her of faking mental illness to avoid extradition to Australia after new surveillance footage from an undercover operation in December showed her going about her daily life in the ultra-Orthodox West Bank settlement of Emmanuel.
