"While the estimated total cost for this build is higher than what we originally anticipated, it is much better value than what we would have achieved had we not gone back to the market," Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.
Meanwhile, Minister for Planning Rob Stokes confirmed the project had received planning approvals.

Christmas drinking warnings for parents

A study has found even children who were given even "sip" of booze were more likely to develop toxic drinking habits as they grew older.

The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) said it was conventional wisdom among parents that giving their underage children was a safe way to introduce them to drinking.

But the centre has published the results of an ongoing study about parental supply of alcohol — so far tracking 1,927 children from Year 7 to Year 12 — which indicated otherwise.

NDARC researchers said there was no benefit to supervising children's alcohol consumption and it was instead likely to increase how often adolescents drank.
