Two male police officers sustained minor injuries and were transported to the Epworth Hospital in a stable condition.
An officer in his 50s sustained cuts, abrasions and bruising to his forehead, and the second man was transported to the hospital to be assessed.
A woman in her 20s received minor lacerations and bruising to her forehead and was taken to The Alfred hospital in a stable condition.
Police are unable to comment on if she was involved in the brawl.
The 26-year-old man police initially attempted to arrest is now assisting officers with their inquiries.
