CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A rare Halloween night blue moon rose over Cleveland Saturday night, just as children in some cities ventured out to trick-or-treat.
A blue moon happens when there are two full moons in a month, which happens about every 2-3 years, and it so happens that it occurred on Halloween night this year. The next time there will be a blue moon on Halloween will be in the years 2039, 2058, 2077 and 2096.
About 50 photographers were gathered at Edgewater Park near downtown Cleveland to photograph the event, as well as dozens of spectators just watching the stunning moon rise. From the particular area of the park, the moon rose between the Huntington Bank building and Tower City.
