A missile blasted from a suburban park was propelled 150 metres into the sky before crashing into a nearby home, damaging its roof, ceiling and walls.
Police say the missile was fired from a reserve on Hillview Drive, Carrum Downs, in Melbourne’s south-east, about 5pm on August 28.
Two people were inside when the explosive tore through the family home and caused extensive damage.
Detectives are looking for those behind the launch and have released CCTV footage of a man and a woman who police say may be able to assist with the investigation.
The man is Caucasian in appearance, about 180 centimetres tall with a medium build. He was wearing dark pants and a grey long sleeved hoodie at the time.
The woman is also Caucasian in appearance, with a medium build and long hair. She was wearing a dark hoodie, light-blue jeans and tanned calf-length boots.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
