A pedestrian was arrested and fined $7.40 after he was walking across the street and bumped into an automobile. He was arrested and fined after his head was bandaged.

Denver Judge Henry Hersey visited the new Weld County Courthouse and said, “I wish that the city of Denver could provide such a nice building for its county court business.”

The Longs Peak Inn has written several Greeley girls to tell them that their summer jobs will not be available this year because the flood stories have ruined the Inn’s trade.

An army of grasshoppers, estimated to be 15 miles wide and 20 miles deep, is invading Colorado. County Farm Agent J.C. Hale said they will distribute 2 tons of grasshopper poison to farmers to stop the spread. They are now between Pueblo and Colorado Springs, and are moving north at about 1 mile per day.

Greeley Mayor C.D. Todd announced that firecrackers of less than 3 inches can legally be exploded on the Fourth of July. He also warned that shooting guns for the celebration would be illegal.

The city is preparing Island Grove Park for the annual Fourth of July celebration. Horses and cattle are being brought in for visitors to see, and several booths have been set up for food. There will also be a merry-go-round. Speakers for the evening speeches are being selected now.

The price of gasoline has fallen again in Greeley. It dropped 2 cents to 24 cents per gallon. Dealers believe the gas price will continue to drop every 30 days. It is because the price of crude oil falls quickly.
