A mother who had an eerie conversation with a young girl she found alone on a dark road at 3am is worried the teenager died in a hit-and-run minutes later.
Mandy Death was on her way to work at 2.50am on Sunday when she spotted the girl sitting on the side of a quiet road near her home in Beaconsfield, North Queensland.
Just 30 minutes later, a 15-year-old girl was killed nearby when she was hit by a car.
The driver did not stop.
The mother can't be certain the two incidents are related, but she's worried the girl involved in the accident is the same person she spoke with earlier that morning.

'I thought this was really strange, she's a young girl at three o'clock in the morning,' she told The Courier Mail.
'I pulled down my passenger window and asked if she needed any help and she said she's okay.'

Ms Death told police the girl she spoke with had a pink backpack with her at the time.
Police believe the car involved in the crash would have sustained substantial panel damage.
They are appealing for public assistance in locating the car and driver.
